Evening Delights at Disney Springs – Shop ‘Til We Drop!

Hey Howdy HAA Everyone (yup we’re trying it!). Welcome back to the Happily Adventures After blog. We always love that you come back for more of the Week in the World!

In today’s post, we are talking about Part 2 of our evening at Disney Springs experience. If you remember from last week’s post, we discussed going to Disney Springs from Reunion Resort, as well as Terrelina Crafted Italian restaurant in Disney Springs.

Without further a-due, let’s get into it!

Shop Til You Drop

After dinner, we made our way through Disney Springs to pick up some fun souvenirs. My cousin and I, at World of Disney, purchased matching “Play in the Parks” collections sweatsuits. These are the absolute best and most incredibly comfortable sweatsuits I have ever tried. I really like Aritzia’s TNA Fleece Sweatsuits, but the Disney World linetops them by far!

We also purchased a matching Play in the Parks  Button Down to my sweatpants, some Minnie Ears and a plush Mickey Mouse . It has become a tradition that each time I go to WDW, I get a new pair of Minnie Ears. I began collecting these in 2011, framing them and placing it beside my desk).

For my collection, I use a headband display I found on Amazon to keep them in my office.

Here is part of the collection, and what they look like displayed!

We also made our way to Sephora so that I could purchase some makeup. I don’t know why, I do love purchasing make up when I am on a trip. I purchased the Dior Backstage Face Palette which was significantly cheaper in the USA than in Canada. I don’t know if anyone has noticed that who is Canadian, but makeup in the USA (and skin care) is quite a bit cheaper even with the exchange than it is in Canada.

Treats on Treats on Treats

After we had our shopping spree, we headed off to find treats.

We originally went over towards Rainforest Cafe to visit Swirls on the Water. Once approaching Swirls on the Water, we noticed the line was incredibly long. My cousin looked at the menu, not finding what she wanted to have, so we were off on the hunt for treats!

As we made our way across the MarketPlace bridge looking over Seven Seas Lagoon and Old Key West Resort, we saw a beautiful sunset. This had to be one of the prettiest sunsets I have seen in a while (mind you I am in bed at 8:30pm so I’m not out seeing sunsets on the daily – sunrises, Yes! I’m up at 5:30am). Ensuring we got some lovely photos to capture the moment, we continued on our treat escapade back in the The Landing and the West End neighbourhoods of Disney Springs.

Making our way past Joffree’s Coffee, I most certainly forgot to stop yet again! We even stopped right outside of it to watch the live entertainment for a few moments.

We continued our walking search and ended up going to D-Style (quick in and out), but then realized that we could stop in the Candy Cauldron! This would satisfy our treat needs with some light snacks

Bubble, Bubble, Treats and Trouble (there was really no trouble, it just went with the heading)!

As we entered Candy Cauldron, I was pleasantly met with the smells of sweet treats. Yes, many people will say to avoid the pre-packaged snacks, and/or premade treats but sometimes when you want something original, and that tasty, you go for it. We were all in this type of mood.

Getting in the short line, Cast Members quickly took our order. We purchased the following;

  • Werther’s Original Caramel Apple with Chopped Peanuts which is a Granny Smith Apple dipped In Werther’s Original Caramel and chopped Peanuts for $6.99 USD/$9.86 CDN plus tax
  • Goofy’s Glacer Slush (Lemonade) in a Souvenir Cup for $13 USD/ $18.33 CDN plus tax-  I wanted the cup more than I wanted the slushy therefore I had to get the slushy… It was $13 USD/ $18.33 CDN plus tax
  • 3 bags of Gummi Disney Character Bag (Regular) for $6.49USD/$9.16 CDN plus tax each
  • Large Mickey Chocolate Chip Cookie Chocolate Chip Cookie with chopped Almonds and Chocolatey Coating for $6.49USD/$9.16 CDN plus tax
  • Large Mickey Pineapple Cookie Pineapple Cookie with Pineapple-flavored Icing and design $6.49USD/$9.16 CDN plus tax
  • Classic Minnie Cereal Treat Crisped Rice Cereal Treat dipped in Red Chocolatey Coating, and decorated with M&M’S Milk Chocolate Candies and Red Chocolatey bow $6.99/$9.86 CDN

Our total originally was $59.43 USD/$83.80 CDN without tax $63.60 USD/$89.68 CDN with tax for all of these treats.

Yes, I will admit we went overboard. It was fun though and we took everything home with us and enjoyed it throughout the rest of our trip and way home/at home! Since this is considered a Merchandise location, we received our WDW Annual Pass discount of 20%.

With our AP discount, our total was then brought down to $47.55 USD/$67.04 CDN pre tax or $50.88 USD/ $71.74 CDN after taxes. The roughly $12 USD savings really did help us in the short run, because we spent that and more within the next 15 minutes!

Everglad We Went to Everglazed!

Treats acquired, we went on our way to what we thought was our vehicle within the parking garage.

As our plan was to exit Disney Springs and find our beds, we laughed and chatted about what a fun day we had! Between swimming at the Waterpark at Reunion Resort, to coming and trying new foods and shopping at Disney Springs, we had a great day! This was also a wonderful evening and way to end our vacation.

As we walked down the same corridor we came through (which let’s remember was playing 2010’s Disney Channel music), we all spotted Everglazed Donut & Cold Brew. My mom and I have been saying for years we have wanted to try this!

Our usual doughnut stop is at Krispy Kreme. We have one or two locations a bit aways from our home in Southwestern Ontario, and they are good but something about eating these while on vacation is a treat! We said what the heck and went right into Everglazed for a great, new found favourite treat!

Once instead, we were greeted with such a lovely gift of more Disney Channel Music; Selena Gomez & The Scene Round and Round which is a personal favourite because yes, I love Selena Gomez. This pumped us up, as my cousin and I sang along, for our doughnut adventure which did not disappoint!

Once to the counter, we ordered the following incredible treats;

  • Classic Glazed Donut for $4.95 USD/$6.98 CDN plus tax
  • Cookies & Cream Donut (which is vanilla iced, topped with a whole OREO Cookie) for $6.50 USD/$9.17 CDN
  • Fruity Pebbles Donut (which is strawberry iced, Fruity Pebble cereal, buttercream frosting) for $5.95 USD/$8.39 CDN plus tax

See, I told you that $12 USD we saved really helped us out. Girl math, by not spending it, we made ourselves $12 USD to use here and couldn’t have come without it.

In total, we $17.40 USD/$24.54 CDN pre tax/$18.62 USD/$26.26 CDN after taxes. With that math, our savings at the Candy Cauldron really made the doughnuts only about $7 USD in total so what a steal for all 3 of these!

Everglazed Donuts and Cold Brew does do a 10% dining WDW Annual Pass discount. In our joy, we most certainly forgot about this and didn’t get it. That’s ok! We know for next time, because there most certainly will be a next time!

These doughnuts were TERRIFIC! We ate them at home as a right before bed, not quite midnight snack snack. Oh my word, I cannot wait to come back again here nor can my mom or cousin. There is a local doughnut store where I live which is phenomenal and we go on occasion. I think Everglazed is on par with this!

Oh I Just Can’t Wait To Be In My Bed

Making our way back to the vehicle, doughnuts in hand, we smiled and laughed about our day. We truly had an amazing time. We talked about our favourite parts of the trip thus far, and also how excited we are for bed since it was much later than our normal to bed.

Within our 25 minute drive back to Reunion Resort, we looked at Walt Disney World property all light up and beautiful! As we pulled out of the parking garage, we were greeted with Epcot’s fireworks show Luminous: The Symphony of Us. It was quite the sight to see, and added that little extra magic to the night.

Overall, it was a great day!

We kept this happiness going as we pulled into Reunion Resort, parking our car at “our spot” (they aren’t assigned, it was just the spot we claimed for the trip as our own) we pulled our souvenirs out of the trunk and made our way into the condo. We then broke out the doughnuts to eat, and had one of the best laughs in a while I’ve had.I think my cousin and I were all deliriously tired and it came out; she is the funniest person I know and can make me laugh so hard until I pee, and most certainly will run with whatever joke to make me keep laughing until I can’t take it! It’s the best.

As that wrapped up, and our doughnuts were consumed, we headed to our respective rooms for bed and called it a great night!

Well, that’s it! That was our Disney Springs evening! Thank you for joining along on Happily Adventures After!

Next up in this series, is our 2 remaining posts about what we did around the area while not at WDW or the Resort, and our adventure home!

We can’t wait to See Ya Real Soon on HAA! Enjoy your day!
