Here’s a quick overview of Lightning Lanes at Walt Disney World:
What is Lightning Lane?
Lightning Lane is a paid service that lets guests bypass regular standby lines at select attractions, reducing wait times. There are two types: the Lightning Lane Single Pass and Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Lightening Lanes are priced per person, and can only be purchased on My Disney Experience App for Walt Disney World.
- Single Pass: This lets you pay per attraction to skip the regular line for one specific ride. Pricing ranges from $10 to $25, depending on the attraction and day of visit. High-demand rides like Avatar Flight of Passage may cost more.
- Multi Pass: This pass provides access to multiple attractions across all parks for a single price, allowing you to enjoy one ride at a time. Multi Pass typically costs $25 to $40 per person, per day.
Key Differences:
- Single Pass: Pay for each ride, with higher costs for popular attractions.
- Multi Pass: Pay once for access to multiple rides, but only one at a time.
How and When to Purchase:

This makes it a fantastic option for families seeking a thrilling yet less intense ride, all while enjoying the convenience of the Lightning Lane for a more comfortable experience.
Honourable Mention
As always, I have a few honorable mentions! These next attractions is currently using a Virtual Queue (as of 2024, though it could change). If you’re planning to visit Magic Kingdom and/or EPCOT, using the Virtual Queue frees up a Multi Pass for other attractions or lets you ride this one twice.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (Multi Pass – Magic Kingdom) is a must-do attraction that offers a unique experience through Disney’s Lightning Lane Multi Pass, which costs between $27-40 per person. The ride transports you into the vibrant world of Princess Tiana, featuring beautiful storytelling, music, and familiar characters. It is also Magic Kingdom’s current only Virtual Queue attraction, which means you and your party can join for free!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (Single Pass – EPCOT) is another must-do attraction. If you’re a Marvel fan or love adrenaline-pumping rides, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT is a must-do! As Disney’s first reverse-launch coaster, this indoor ride blends high-speed thrills with Guardians-style humor and storytelling.Starting in the Wonders of Xandar pavilion, you’ll join the Guardians crew to save the galaxy when a Celestial steals Earth. With 360-degree rotating ride vehicles and classic ’70s and ’80s hits, you’re in for a wild, immersive adventure. This Single Pass attraction cost between $25-22 per person USD.
While both of these attractions requires joining a virtual queue (with two opportunities at 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM), it frees up your day for other activities, as you don’t need to wait in line for hours. Though the lack of a fixed return time can lead to scheduling conflicts, it’s still a great way to experience this new attraction at no extra cost, especially for those flexible with their plans. If you’re attending extra ticketed after-hours events, the virtual queue ensures you can still access it without additional fees.
Note on Animal Kingdom Multi-Pass Attractions:
Animal Kingdom has fewer Multi-Pass attractions, mainly because DinoLand U.S.A. is undergoing a major transformation starting in January 2025, which will impact existing attractions like DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus. Until these changes are complete, the park will offer limited Multi-Pass options. Additionally, Animal Kingdom’s layout makes it easy to experience high-demand attractions like Na’vi River Journey and Kilimanjaro Safaris without long waits, even without the Multi-Pass. Unless you’re specifically looking to skip lines for rides like Avatar Flight of Passage, I don’t fully recommend the Multi-Pass here, as you can still enjoy the park at a relaxed pace. However, once the refurbishments are finished, the need for the Multi-Pass may increase.
