Hey Howdy HAA Everyone!

Welcome back to Happily Adventures After! We are so excited to have you join us for this week’s edition of HAA Disney: Give Me a Review.
Today, we’re diving into one of Disney Springs’ most popular dining spots—The Boathouse. While the charming waterfront atmosphere is undeniably inviting, our recent visit didn’t quite meet expectations. With reservation hiccups, long waits, and food that fell short, the experience was a mixed bag. Still, The Boathouse remains a favourite for its nautical setting and scenic views.
Let’s break down the highlights and challenges of this Disney Springs staple.
The Boathouse in Disney Springs Description
The Boathouse at Disney Springs offers a picturesque waterfront dining experience that’s hard to beat. With its charming nautical theme, cozy booths, and scenic lake views, it’s easy to see why it’s a favourite. Guests can relax on the patio, watch the amphicars splash into the water, or enjoy a cocktail by the dock.
The menu celebrates fresh seafood, steaks, and American cuisine, with highlights like fresh oysters, lobster rolls, and the tender Filet Mignon. For a sweet twist, try the signature Boat Tails—fun, sundae-style drinks.
A boat ride from the dock adds an extra magical touch, making The Boathouse perfect for a romantic evening or family outing. With its inviting atmosphere, quality menu, and beautiful setting, it’s a standout spot in Disney Springs.
Not Owned by Disney
The Boathouse at Disney Springs is owned by the Sloan’s Group, a family-owned restaurant company. The group is known for its success in creating unique dining experiences, and The Boathouse is one of their premier establishments. The restaurant is operated under their leadership alongside other notable ventures in the hospitality industry. The Sloan’s Group has a strong track record of bringing high-quality, themed dining concepts to destinations like Disney Springs, offering guests a memorable combination of excellent food, service, and ambiance.
I’ve noticed that some of the restaurants in Disney Springs that are owned by outside companies, rather than Disney itself, don’t quite measure up to the same level of quality and experience that Disney’s own dining establishments provide. While they may offer unique themes and menus, the consistency in service and food quality can sometimes fall short. It’s a bit of a mixed bag, where the atmosphere is often great, but the overall dining experience might not always live up to the high standards that guests expect from Disney.

Our Experience
Our latest visit to The Boathouse at Disney Springs was a letdown compared to past experiences. From a frustrating reservation mix-up to long waits and overly salty food, it felt like the usual quality and service were missing. Despite arriving early, we were told to wait, only to watch other parties seated before us. Once at the table, the food took too long to arrive and didn’t meet expectations.
Adding to the disappointment, our server asked us to leave a Yelp review before they returned with the check—a request that felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. To top it off, my Annual Passholder discount wasn’t applied, and after already dealing with delays, I let it slide to avoid further hassle.
While The Boathouse has been a favourite in the past, this experience has made us rethink returning anytime soon.

Overall Rating
Rating: 2/5
This visit to The Boathouse at Disney Springs was disappointing, earning a 2 out of 5. Issues with our reservation, a long wait, overly salty food, and pressure to leave a review dampened the experience.
Normally, The Boathouse would rate a solid 4 out of 5 for its charming atmosphere, decent food, and generally good service. While this visit didn’t meet expectations, past experiences have been much better. We wouldn’t rule out a return, but next time, we’ll be more cautious.
