HAA Disney: Skyliner at Walt Disney World – A Fear Conquered and a New Perspective!

Hey Howdy HAA Everyone!

It’s London. Welcome back to Happily Adventures After! Today, in our HAA Disney: Give Me a Review, we are going to be discussing a finally awaited method of transportation for me… The Walt Disney World Skyliner!

The Skyliner at Walt Disney World is an aerial gondola system connecting Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and resorts like Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, Art of Animation, and Riviera Resort. Since opening in 2019, it has offered a scenic, efficient way to travel across Disney property.

As someone afraid of heights and claustrophobic, it took me six years to finally board the Skyliner. The idea of being suspended in a small, enclosed space made me anxious, but I challenged myself to step outside my comfort zone on this trip.

What is the Skyliner?

The Skyliner uses gondola cabins suspended by cables, offering a unique view of Disney’s landscapes. There’s no air conditioning, but the ventilation keeps airflow comfortable. On my ride, the weather was cool and cloudy, making for a pleasant experience.

Where Does It Go?

The Skyliner connects:

  • EPCOT ↔ Caribbean Beach Resort (with connections to Pop Century & Art of Animation)
  • Hollywood Studios ↔ Caribbean Beach Resort
  • Riviera Resort ↔ Caribbean Beach

It’s a relaxing way to travel, offering a break from the usual park crowds.

The Experience

I started with a short ride from Caribbean Beach to EPCOT to ease my nerves. The ride was smooth, and the views were calming. I expected to feel trapped, but the cabin felt open, and the scenery kept me distracted. It didn’t sway much, and the steady airflow helped me stay comfortable. Despite my initial fears, it was a surprisingly enjoyable ride!

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Scenic Views – A breathtaking perspective of Disney property.
  • Fast & Convenient – Quicker than buses, great for park hopping.
  • Comfortable Airflow – No AC, but the ventilation keeps it pleasant.
  • No Security Lines – Faster boarding compared to monorails or buses.
  • A Unique Experience – A fresh way to explore Disney.

Cons:

  • No AC – Could be uncomfortable on hot days.
  • Limited Coverage – Doesn’t connect all parks or resorts.
  • Not Ideal for Fear of Heights – May be difficult for some.
  • Potential Delays – Can be affected by weather or crowds.

Final Thoughts

Rating – 4.25 out of 5!

The Skyliner was a pleasant surprise! It took years for me to try it, but I’m glad I did. For someone with my fears, it was manageable and enjoyable.

I’d rate it 4.25/5—not for everyone, but worth trying if you can handle heights. Start with a short ride and see how you feel!
