🏨 What Is The Artist’s Palette?
The Artist’s Palette is the primary quick-service restaurant and market located at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, a beautiful, equestrian-themed Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort nestled across the lake from Disney Springs. The resort is inspired by the charm and elegance of Saratoga Springs, New York, known for its horse racing history and artistic flair. Much like the resort itself, The Artist’s Palette is calm, colorful, and filled with nods to creativity and classic design. This spot serves as a casual dining area, gift shop, and grocery market all rolled into one—which is especially convenient for guests staying in the DVC villas who want to stock up on essentials.
The restaurant is located near the resort’s main lobby and just steps from the main pool, giving it bonus points if you’re enjoying a pool day and need a casual, easy bite to eat. It offers open seating, and during our visit, we loved that after ordering at the counter, we were given a buzzer so the Cast Members could bring our food directly to our table. After long days in the parks, this little bit of table service magic was such a welcome touch! The space is casual and bright, with views of the pool and convenient access to both resort shopping and resort recreation.
🎯 How It Works
At The Artist’s Palette, you walk up to the counter, order from the digital menu, and receive a buzzer. When your food is ready, a friendly Cast Member delivers it to your table. The process is efficient and takes the stress out of juggling trays or searching for a place to sit with your hands full. The open dining room features casual tables and booths with views outside, and it connects directly to the resort gift shop. This clever design makes it easy to browse for souvenirs or essentials while you wait—though fair warning: you might end up making an unexpected purchase or two (Disney retail magic strikes again!).
For guests staying in a villa, The Artist’s Palette doubles as a DVC-friendly market. You’ll find refrigerated and frozen items like milk, cereal, snacks, and even frozen pizzas—perfect for tossing in the oven back at your room. If you’re traveling with a family or staying longer than a weekend, this amenity can be a huge convenience.
🥗 What We Tried
Here’s what we ordered during our visit:
- Chicken Strips (served with Saratoga Chips) – $10.49
- Pepperoni Pizza (with fresh pizza sauce & artisan cheese blend) – $10.29
- Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich (with Tomato Soup) – $11.99
- Caesar Salad with Chicken – $11.99
Subtotal: $44.76
+ 7% Florida Tax: $3.13
Total in USD: $47.89
Converted to CAD at 1.41 exchange: ≈ $67.53 CAD
During our visit, we sampled a few different items from the menu to get a good sense of the offerings. We ordered the Chicken Strips, served with house-made Saratoga Chips instead of traditional French fries, for $10.49. We also tried the Pepperoni Pizza, made with house-made dough, pizza sauce, and an artisan cheese blend, priced at $10.29. The Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich, which came with a side of tomato soup, was $11.99, and we rounded out the meal with a Caesar Salad with Chicken, also $11.99.
Our total before tax was $44.76. Adding in Florida’s 7% sales tax brought our total to $47.89 USD, and after converting to Canadian dollars at the exchange rate at the time (1.41), the total came to approximately $67.53 CAD. For a quick-service meal, especially at a resort, this cost was within expected range—but not necessarily a great value based on taste (more on that below).
🏠 DVC Convenience Points
What does work well here is the DVC-market setup. If you’re staying in one of the villas, having access to groceries, snacks, wine, frozen meals, and breakfast items right at the resort is a big win. The Artist’s Palette makes it easy to grab those last-minute ingredients or vacation comforts without needing to leave property or make a Disney Springs run.
The space is also quiet compared to the chaos of food courts in value resorts or the hustle of Disney Springs restaurants, so if you’re looking for something low-key and convenient, it fits the bill.
✅ Pros
- Convenient for resort guests and pool-goers
- Food brought right to your table with a buzzer
- Connected to a gift shop (aka bonus browsing time!)
- Great selection of groceries and essentials for DVC guests
❌ Cons
- The food was extremely salty across the board
- No French fries—Saratoga Chips only
- Not worth a detour if you’re not staying at the resort
💬 Why I Recommend It
I recommend The Artist’s Palette only if you’re staying at Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and want something nearby and casual. It’s a functional quick-service option with convenient extras, but not something I’d suggest making a special trip for. If you’re poolside and just want a snack without venturing far, this fits the bill—but lower your expectations on flavor.
💖 Why I Like It
I liked the ambience, the seating, and the Cast Member service. I also loved how easy it was to browse and shop while waiting for our meal. The views of the pool were lovely, and the space didn’t feel rushed or crowded. But unfortunately, the food itself was so salty it detracted from the experience entirely.
⭐ Final Thoughts
2.5/5 stars!
The Artist’s Palette is a great example of Disney designing a space that’s smart, practical, and charming—but where the execution fell short in the kitchen. While we loved the location, vibe, and amenities, the food itself left us feeling disappointed. It’s worth checking out if you’re staying at the resort and need something easy and convenient, but if you’re looking for quality quick-service dining at Disney, you’ll likely find better options elsewhere.
🌟 I give it a 2.5 out of 5. It gets points for atmosphere, convenience, and DVC perks—but major deductions for flavor and lack of basic sides like fries.
The Artist’s Palette paints a beautiful picture when it comes to convenience, atmosphere, and location—especially for Disney Vacation Club guests staying at Saratoga Springs. With its buzzer-to-table service, attached market, and peaceful poolside vibes, it checks a lot of practical boxes.
But when it comes to flavor? It sadly misses the mark.
If you’re nearby and need a quick, easy bite or a few groceries for your villa, it’s a functional choice. Just go in with adjusted expectations—this isn’t a destination for dining magic, but rather a pit stop of practicality.
For now, we’re calling it a “good enough” option for resort guests—not a must-try for Disney foodies.
Let us know what you think about this! In the mean time, I hope that you have a blessed and wonderful day,
London
