Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026 Review: Is It Worth It?

Hey Howdy HAA Everyone!

It’s London, and welcome back to HAA Disney: Give Me A Review.

For this review, we’re heading to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

After taking about two years away from the event, I was genuinely curious to see how the party would feel this time around. I had plenty of memories from previous visits, but Disney has continued to evolve the Halloween event, and I wanted to experience it again before deciding whether it still lived up to the hype.

After spending the evening at Magic Kingdom, I can say this much: Disney really stepped up the party.

Our visit to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was hosted by Cheyenne Broyles of PeopleMover Travel, and after returning to the event for the first time in about two years, I walked away with a very different appreciation for just how much Disney has packed into this separately ticketed experience. I want to give a quick thank-you to Cheyenne Broyles and PeopleMover Travel for hosting us for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party during our October Walt Disney World trip. Cheyenne is a Travel Advisor with PeopleMover Travel who specializes in Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Universal Orlando and other vacation destinations. She was wonderful to work with and helped make this experience a special part of our trip.

A Brief History of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has been part of the Walt Disney World Halloween season for decades.

The first event was held on October 31, 1995, as a single-night celebration. Since then, the party has grown substantially, becoming one of Walt Disney World’s most popular seasonal events.

What started as a relatively simple after-hours Halloween celebration has developed into a full evening of exclusive entertainment, character appearances, trick-or-treating, specialty food, fireworks, parades and Halloween-themed experiences.

The event is also deliberately designed to be “not-so-scary,” making it a family-friendly alternative to traditional Halloween horror events found elsewhere in the Orlando area.

That balance is part of what makes the event so distinctive.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026

The 2026 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party season runs on select nights from August 7 through October 31.

The official party runs from 7:00 p.m. until midnight, but party ticket holders can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 p.m. That gives you several additional hours in the park before the official event begins.

That early entry is worth keeping in mind when you’re planning your evening because there is a lot to fit into the available time.

How Much Does Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Cost?

For 2026, tickets range from $119 to $229 USD per person, plus tax, depending on the date.

That is a significant expense for a five-hour event, particularly when you consider that regular park admission is separate if you want to spend the day at Magic Kingdom before the party.

And once you add specialty food, merchandise, dining or other paid experiences, the total cost can increase quickly.

So the real question isn’t simply whether the party is fun. It is whether what the party offers is worth the additional cost for your particular Disney vacation.

My Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Review

I really enjoyed it.

In fact, I was a little surprised by just how much I enjoyed it this time.

Because I hadn’t attended the party in two years, I had a previous experience to compare it with. What stood out most during this visit was the amount of entertainment happening throughout Magic Kingdom.

There were dance parties, characters, music and different experiences happening across the park.

It made the event feel like an actual celebration rather than simply a regular evening at Magic Kingdom with Halloween decorations.

That distinction matters.

You can spend your evening moving around the park and discovering what is happening rather than feeling like you have to stay in one location for the entire night.

The Dance Parties Were One of My Highlights

One of my favourite parts of the party was the entertainment.

Disney uses different areas of Magic Kingdom to create entertainment hubs, giving guests opportunities to stop, watch and participate as they move through the park.

One of the 2026 additions is Stitch’s masquerade in Tomorrowland, featuring Stitch, Lilo and Angel at the Rockettower Plaza Stage.

There is also Destination: Dancendance, featuring music and characters inspired by Descendants, along with the Cadaver Dans in Frontierland and other entertainment throughout the park.

For me, this is where the party really succeeded.

There was energy throughout the park. Music was playing, characters were appearing and guests had plenty of opportunities to stop and enjoy something unexpected.

That helped create the atmosphere you want from a separately ticketed Halloween party.

Character Experiences at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Another highlight for me was the characters.

I have always enjoyed the moments when Disney takes characters out of their usual settings and creates something a little different.

During the 2026 party, guests can find characters in areas such as Storybook Circus, including Donald, Daisy and Pluto, alongside other special entertainment and appearances throughout Magic Kingdom.

What I enjoyed most was that these experiences encouraged you to explore.

You didn’t necessarily have to spend the entire night standing in a character line. You could move through the park, take in the Halloween atmosphere and discover what was happening along the way.

Those unexpected character moments were some of the most enjoyable parts of the evening for me.

Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade

If you’ve followed my Disney content for a while, you probably know that I love Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade.

There is something about hearing the parade music begin and knowing that the Headless Horseman is about to make his way down Main Street.

The 2026 parade features the Headless Horseman, Mickey and Minnie in Halloween costumes, Disney characters, Haunted Mansion favourites, villains and plenty of dancers.

The parade is presented twice during the party, giving guests some flexibility when planning the rest of their evening.

This is one experience I would recommend making a priority.

If the parade is important to you, plan ahead for where you want to watch it. Viewing locations can become crowded, particularly as the parade approaches.

For me, Boo-To-You remains one of the strongest reasons to attend the party.

Halloween Food at Magic Kingdom

Of course, no Disney seasonal event would be complete without specialty food.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party offers a combination of included trick-or-treating and additional Halloween-themed food and beverages available for purchase.

The 2026 offerings include specialty desserts, snacks, entrees and drinks throughout Magic Kingdom.

Some of the offerings include the Minnie Witch Hat, Bowl of Bones, Buzzard Wings, Not-So-Poison Apple Doughnuts, Haunting Jalapeño Tots and the Ursula Cone.

There are also Halloween-inspired dining options available at select Magic Kingdom restaurants.

The Plaza Restaurant, Be Our Guest Restaurant and Cinderella’s Royal Table are among the dining locations offering experiences or menu options associated with the party.

Guests can also purchase the Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party for an additional cost.

If specialty Disney food is an important part of your vacation, there is plenty here to explore.

My advice would be to look at the menus before your party night and decide what you actually want to try. With so much happening during the evening, trying to fit every food offering into one visit isn’t realistic.

Trick-or-Treating Is Included

Trick-or-treating is one of the experiences included with your Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party admission.

There are multiple treat locations throughout Magic Kingdom where guests can collect candy during the event.

And yes, adults can participate too.

Disney also offers an allergy-friendly option for guests with food allergies. Guests can use teal treat bags and tokens to participate in the allergy-friendly process.

If you’re planning to make the most of the trick-or-treating, bring something to carry your candy. You can collect quite a bit throughout the evening.

Not-So-Spooky Spectacular and Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular

The entertainment doesn’t stop with the parade.

Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular is the party’s nighttime fireworks spectacular and features Jack Skellington, Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy in a Halloween-themed story.

The event also features Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, which brings the Sanderson Sisters to Cinderella Castle along with Disney villains, dancers, projections and special effects.

Both experiences contribute to what makes the Halloween party feel different from a regular Magic Kingdom evening.

You’re not simply staying in the park later. You’re experiencing entertainment that is specifically created for the event.

The Pros of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

The Entertainment

This was one of the biggest highlights for me.

The combination of dance parties, characters, music and entertainment throughout the park made the experience feel immersive.

Boo-To-You Halloween Parade

Still one of my favourite parts of the event and something I would absolutely recommend seeing.

Character Opportunities

If meeting or seeing characters is important to you, the party offers experiences you won’t necessarily find during a regular Magic Kingdom day.

Halloween Food

There is plenty of specialty food to explore, particularly if you enjoy seasonal Disney snacks and desserts.

Trick-or-Treating

The fact that trick-or-treating is included with admission adds another experience that you don’t get during a normal Magic Kingdom visit.

The Atmosphere

Magic Kingdom already feels different after dark.

Add Halloween music, costumes, lighting, characters and seasonal entertainment, and the park takes on an entirely different atmosphere.

The Cons of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

The Price

There is no getting around it: $119 to $229 USD plus tax is a significant amount of money.

Once you add food, merchandise or additional experiences, the cost can increase considerably.

You need to decide whether the exclusive entertainment and experiences justify that additional expense for your family.

You Can’t Do Everything

There is simply too much happening during one party to experience everything.

This is where having a plan can make a significant difference.

Decide what matters most to you before you arrive and build your evening around those priorities.

Party Dates Can Sell Out

The 2026 party dates have sold out, which is an important consideration if you’re planning a future visit.

If attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a priority, I would not recommend waiting until the last minute to purchase tickets.

My HAA Rating: 4.25/5

After returning to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party following a two-year break, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the experience.

The entertainment was a major strength, the characters added plenty of fun, and Boo-To-You remains one of my favourite seasonal Disney experiences.

The biggest drawback is the price.

At more than $100 per person and potentially well over $200 depending on the date, this is not an inexpensive addition to a Walt Disney World vacation.

For that reason, I don’t think the party is automatically worth it for every Disney visitor.

But if the entertainment, characters, parade and Halloween atmosphere are important to you, I think there is a strong case for adding it to your trip.

Is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Worth It?

For me, yes.

I would especially consider it if you’re visiting Walt Disney World during Halloween season and want to experience something beyond a standard day at Magic Kingdom.

The party gives you access to exclusive entertainment, characters, trick-or-treating, Boo-To-You, Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, specialty food and a completely different atmosphere throughout the park.

Whether that is worth $119, $169, $199 or $229 depends on your priorities and your Disney vacation budget.

For me, after returning this year, I can confidently say that I was glad I went.

Disney really did step up the party.

My Final HAA Take

After two years away from Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, I wasn’t completely sure what I would think when I returned.

But by the end of the night, I knew one thing: I had a great time.

The dance parties were fun. The characters added unexpected moments throughout the park. The Halloween food gave us plenty to explore. Boo-To-You remains a favourite, and the overall atmosphere made Magic Kingdom feel completely different from a regular park day.

Most importantly, the event felt like a party. I think that’s what Disney got right this year.

If you’re planning a Walt Disney World vacation during Halloween season, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is absolutely worth considering.

Just make sure you look at the cost, decide which experiences matter most to you and plan your evening accordingly.

For me, it was a successful return.

A special thank you to Cheyenne Broyles of PeopleMover Travel for hosting us for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and for being such a wonderful part of our October Disney trip.

It was a pleasure working with you, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to experience the party again and share an honest look at what guests can expect. Your support and thoughtfulness made the experience even more special for our family.

Thank you again, Cheyenne, for thinking of HAA Disney and for helping make this experience possible. I’m grateful to have you as part of our Disney journey, and I’m looking forward to seeing where our partnership takes us next.

Have a blessed and wonderful day,
