The Cake Bake Shop Bakery at Disney’s BoardWalk -HAA Disney: Give Me A Review

Hey Howdy HAA Everyone!

It’s London, your host of HAA Disney Podcast by Happily Adventures After (HAA)!

If you’re a Disney foodie or love indulging in sweet treats, few experiences compare to finding a dessert spot that combines flavour, presentation, and a bit of magic. Located along Disney’s charming BoardWalk, The Cake Bake Shop Bakery by Gwendolyn Rogers has quickly become one of Walt Disney World’s most talked-about dessert

From elegant storybook decor to decadent, large cake slices, this bakery promises an unforgettable experience… but is it really worth the price? In this review, we break down everything you need to know about visiting The Cake Bake Shop Bakery, including location, menu, taste, cost, and overall experience.

The Story Behind The Cake Bake Shop
The Cake Bake Shop is the creation of pastry chef and entrepreneur Gwendolyn Rogers, who began baking from her home before opening her first whimsical bakery in Indiana. The Disney location, opening in October 2024, is the brand’s third major expansion, transforming the former ESPN Club space into a pastel-colored, dessert-focused destination. Guests will find glass domes filled with elaborate cakes displayed on porcelain platters, giving the bakery a boutique-patisserie meets luxury tea room vibe. The menu includes cakes, macarons, cookies, croissants, pies, brownies, and more.

Location
The bakery sits along the BoardWalk waterfront, within walking distance of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and the International Gateway of EPCOT, making it a convenient stop for a late-night snack or post-park treat.

What We Ordered

  • Earl’s Court Chocolate Cake — $22
Valrhona French chocolate cake filled with Callebaut Belgian chocolate ganache and malted chocolate cream, topped with Belgian chocolate fudge and fleur de sel.
  • Carrot Cake — $22
Spiced carrot cake (without nuts or raisins), filled and frosted with signature cream cheese frosting, topped with decorative silk flowers.

The Cost
Two slices: $44 USD

  • 7% Florida sales tax = $47.08 USD
    ≈ $66.39 CAD
Yes, nearly $70 Canadian for two slices — definitely a splurge.

The Taste
Both cakes were rich and flavorful. The chocolate cake had deep chocolate notes from Valrhona and Callebaut chocolates, while the carrot cake was warmly spiced with smooth cream cheese frosting. Portions are generous, making sharing possible.

The Experience
Walking in feels like stepping into a storybook dessert boutique. Presentation, packaging, and ambiance are all top-notch — you’re paying for both quality and atmosphere.

Is It Worth It?
The cakes are beautiful and delicious, but at nearly $70 CAD for two slices, it’s an occasional treat rather than a regular indulgence. Compared to multiple snacks or even a quick-service meal, the price is steep.

Final Rating: ⭐ 4 / 5
Pros:
✔ Excellent cake quality
✔ Stunning bakery atmosphere
✔ Large portions

Cons:
✖ Expensive
✖ Hard to justify as a regular Disney treat

For dessert lovers, The Cake Bake Shop Bakery at Disney’s BoardWalk is worth trying at least once. It’s visually stunning, offers high-quality cakes, and gives a fairy-tale experience along the charming BoardWalk.
