The Story Behind The Cake Bake Shop
The Cake Bake Shop is the creation of pastry chef and entrepreneur Gwendolyn Rogers, who began baking from her home before opening her first whimsical bakery in Indiana. The Disney location, opening in October 2024, is the brand’s third major expansion, transforming the former ESPN Club space into a pastel-colored, dessert-focused destination. Guests will find glass domes filled with elaborate cakes displayed on porcelain platters, giving the bakery a boutique-patisserie meets luxury tea room vibe. The menu includes cakes, macarons, cookies, croissants, pies, brownies, and more.

The bakery sits along the BoardWalk waterfront, within walking distance of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and the International Gateway of EPCOT, making it a convenient stop for a late-night snack or post-park treat.

The Taste
Both cakes were rich and flavorful. The chocolate cake had deep chocolate notes from Valrhona and Callebaut chocolates, while the carrot cake was warmly spiced with smooth cream cheese frosting. Portions are generous, making sharing possible.

The Experience
Walking in feels like stepping into a storybook dessert boutique. Presentation, packaging, and ambiance are all top-notch — you’re paying for both quality and atmosphere.

Is It Worth It?
The cakes are beautiful and delicious, but at nearly $70 CAD for two slices, it’s an occasional treat rather than a regular indulgence. Compared to multiple snacks or even a quick-service meal, the price is steep.
