For this review, we’re heading to Reunion Resort & Golf Club in Kissimmee, Florida, one of our favorite places to stay when we’re visiting the Orlando area.
While Reunion is close to Walt Disney World, what makes it stand out to us is that it offers a very different type of vacation experience. Rather than staying in a traditional hotel room, the Superior Villas provide the space and comforts of a vacation home while still giving guests access to a full range of resort amenities.
We’ve stayed at Reunion more than once, and it continues to be a place we would happily return to.
So, let’s take a closer look at the Superior Villas, the resort itself, and why we think Reunion can be such a great option for a Florida vacation.
Reunion Resort & Golf Club
Located in Kissimmee, Florida, Reunion Resort & Golf Club is a large resort community designed to be much more than simply a convenient place to stay near Orlando’s theme parks.
The resort combines vacation-home accommodations with extensive amenities, including multiple pools, a 5-acre water park, golf, tennis, pickleball, mini golf, dining and recreational activities.
Its location is also a major part of its appeal. Guests can visit Walt Disney World during the day and return to a quieter resort environment in the evening.
For us, that balance is one of Reunion’s greatest strengths.
We love Disney, but we don’t necessarily want every moment of a vacation to feel like we’re still in a theme park. Reunion provides an opportunity to enjoy the parks while also having somewhere spacious and relaxing to return to.
The Superior Villas
The Superior Villas are one of the biggest reasons we enjoy staying at Reunion.
A three-bedroom Superior Villa offers approximately 1,600 square feet of space and can accommodate up to eight guests, depending on the specific accommodation.
That is a significant difference from a traditional hotel room.
The villas provide separate bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, a living area, dining space, a full kitchen and outdoor space. For families or larger groups, having dedicated living space can make a substantial difference over the course of a vacation.
After a full day at Walt Disney World, having somewhere to sit together, prepare food and relax without everyone sharing a single hotel room is particularly valuable.
It also gives families the ability to maintain some of the routines they would have at home while still enjoying a vacation environment.
The Kitchen: One of Our Favorite Features
The full kitchen is another feature we really appreciate about the Superior Villas.
Having access to a kitchen gives you considerably more flexibility with meals. You can prepare breakfast before leaving for the parks, keep snacks and drinks available throughout the day, prepare a simple dinner or store leftovers from a restaurant meal.
For longer stays, that flexibility can also help manage food costs.
We don’t think a kitchen necessarily means you need to cook throughout your entire vacation. For us, it’s about having the option.
There are days when going out for another meal is part of the fun. There are also days when everyone has had enough after a long park day and would rather have something easy at the villa.
Having that choice is one of the advantages of staying in a vacation villa.
The Reunion Resort Water Park
One of the standout amenities at Reunion is its 5-acre water park.
For eligible guests with amenity access, the water park includes a 1,000-foot lazy river, zero-entry pool, water slide, children’s splash areas and additional recreational amenities.
There are also areas for activities such as sand volleyball, ping pong, Connect 4 and cornhole, along with food and beverage options.
For families, this makes it easy to incorporate a resort day into an Orlando vacation.
Instead of visiting a theme park every day, you can spend a day at the resort and still have plenty to do.
That’s something we particularly value.
A vacation doesn’t always need to be about how many attractions you can fit into one day. Sometimes having time to relax at the pool or spend several hours at the water park is exactly what you need.
Pools and Resort Recreation
The water park is only one part of Reunion’s amenities.
The resort also has multiple pools and a variety of recreational opportunities, including tennis, pickleball, mini golf and bocce.
Golf is another major part of the Reunion experience. The resort is home to three signature golf courses associated with Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus.
That makes Reunion particularly appealing for groups with different interests.
While one person might want to spend the day golfing, another can enjoy the water park, and someone else can simply relax by the pool or at the villa.
You don’t have to structure the entire vacation around one activity.
Transportation at Reunion
Reunion also offers complimentary transportation around the resort, with on-property rides available through the Ride Reunion app.
There is also theme-park transportation from the Reunion Grande to Walt Disney World.
For our vacations, however, we generally prefer having a rental car.
That’s an important consideration when deciding whether Reunion is the right fit for you.
Because you’re staying outside of the Disney Resort area, a rental car can provide considerably more flexibility.
It allows you to visit Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, grocery stores, restaurants and other Orlando-area attractions on your own schedule.
For us, that flexibility is worth considering when looking at the overall cost of the vacation.
Reunion Resort vs. Staying at Disney
One of the most common questions when considering an off-property resort is whether it is actually more affordable than staying at Walt Disney World.
The answer isn’t necessarily straightforward.
Both Disney and Reunion pricing varies depending on travel dates, season, promotions, accommodation type, availability and the size of your group.
For that reason, we wouldn’t say that Reunion is always cheaper.
Instead, we think the better comparison is what you’re receiving for the price.
A three-bedroom Superior Villa can provide approximately 1,600 square feet of space for a larger family or group.
You’re getting multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, a living area, dining space and a full kitchen, along with access to the resort’s amenities.
That is a very different accommodation model from a traditional hotel room.
For larger families and groups, this can make Reunion particularly attractive because everyone can potentially stay together in one villa rather than requiring multiple hotel rooms.
The Value of Having Space
For us, space is one of the biggest advantages of Reunion.
It’s easy to focus on nightly rates when comparing accommodations, but the size and functionality of the accommodation can be just as important.
Having separate bedrooms means that everyone doesn’t necessarily have to follow the same sleeping schedule.
Having a living room provides somewhere to spend time together without everyone having to sit on a bed.
Having a kitchen provides additional meal options.
And having outdoor space gives you another place to relax.
These details become increasingly valuable during a longer vacation.
Why Reunion Works Well for a Disney Vacation
What we particularly like about Reunion is that it doesn’t require you to choose between a Disney vacation and a relaxing resort vacation.
You can have both.
You can spend a day at Walt Disney World and return to Reunion in the evening.
You can dedicate another day to the water park.
You can spend time by the pool.
You can play mini golf.
You can enjoy the resort’s other recreational amenities.
Or you can simply stay in your villa and have a slower day.
That flexibility is what makes Reunion such a good complement to a Disney trip.
Who We Think Reunion Is Best For
Based on our experience, Reunion is particularly worth considering for:
- Families who want more space than a traditional hotel room
- Larger or multi-generational groups
- Travelers planning longer Orlando stays
- Families who want access to a resort water park
- Travelers who want a kitchen and living space
- Guests who don’t mind renting a car
- Travelers who want to combine theme parks with resort days
It may be less appealing for travelers whose top priority is being completely immersed in the Disney Resort experience or having Disney transportation immediately outside their accommodation.
And that’s okay.
Reunion isn’t trying to be Disney.
That’s the point.
HAA’s Value Verdict
We wouldn’t describe Reunion as an automatic cheaper alternative to Walt Disney World.
Instead, we see it as a different type of vacation accommodation that can provide excellent value, particularly for families and larger groups.
You’re getting the space of a vacation home, the amenities of a resort and convenient access to Orlando’s theme parks.
There is a trade-off. Staying off-property means considering transportation and potentially renting a car.
But for us, the trade-off is worthwhile.
We would rather have the flexibility of a vehicle and the additional space of a Superior Villa than spend the entire vacation in a traditional hotel room.
Our Final Take on Reunion Resort
Would we stay at Reunion Resort again?
Absolutely.
Would we recommend the Superior Villas for a Disney vacation?
Yes.
Reunion Resort & Golf Club offers something that we think is particularly valuable for families: the ability to experience Orlando’s theme parks while still having a genuine resort vacation.
The Superior Villas provide the space and comfort of a vacation home, while the resort itself provides plenty to do when you’re ready for a break from the parks.
The 5-acre water park, pools, golf, sports and other amenities mean you don’t have to leave the property to have a full vacation day.
And for us, that’s ultimately what keeps Reunion on our list.
We can enjoy Walt Disney World, come back to a spacious villa, prepare a meal, relax by the pool or simply have a quiet evening.
It gives us the opportunity to enjoy the best parts of an Orlando vacation without feeling like every day needs to be scheduled from morning until night.

Stay for the Disney.
Stay for the resort.
Stay for the space.
Because sometimes, your vacation deserves a vacation from the vacation.
And Reunion Resort is one of the places we happily return to for exactly that reason. 💙
