Is Be Our Guest Really Worth $100+ Per Person in 2026?

Hey Howdy HAA Everyone!

It’s London, your host of the HAA Disney Podcast and creator of Happily Adventures After.

Welcome back to another Give Me A Review here at HAA, where we take a real look at Disney experiences and ask the question that matters most: is it actually worth it?

This time, we’re heading into Magic Kingdom and stepping inside Beast’s Castle to talk about one of Walt Disney World’s most recognizable dining experiences: Be Our Guest Restaurant.

I’ve eaten at Be Our Guest three times and have experienced several different versions of the restaurant over the years, including breakfast, quick-service lunch and traditional dinner, as well as the current prix-fixe experience. That gives me a little bit of perspective on how this restaurant has changed and what it offers today.

And while I absolutely understand why Be Our Guest remains such a popular reservation, I think there is an important conversation to have about the price.

The current adult prix-fixe meal is around $72–$73 before tax and gratuity. Once you add Florida’s 7% sales tax and a tip, you can get surprisingly close to — or potentially exceed — $100 per person, depending on what you order and how you tip.

That is a significant amount of money for one meal.

So today, I’m looking at the food, atmosphere, theming, overall experience and, most importantly, whether I think Be Our Guest is worth the price in 2026.

And yes, my rating might surprise some of you.

Welcome to Beast’s Castle

The first thing I would say about Be Our Guest is that you are not simply walking into another Disney restaurant. You are walking into Beast’s Castle.

Located in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom, Be Our Guest opened in 2012 as part of the New Fantasyland expansion. Disney went all in on the Beauty and the Beast theme, and that attention to detail is still one of the restaurant’s biggest strengths.

The restaurant is divided into three distinct spaces: the Grand Ballroom, the West Wing and the Rose Gallery. Each room has its own atmosphere, but all three feel connected to the world of the film.

The Grand Ballroom is probably the space most people picture when they think of Be Our Guest. The enormous windows, chandeliers and snowy backdrop create the feeling of being transported straight into the ballroom scene from Beauty and the Beast. The West Wing is darker and more dramatic, with the torn portrait and enchanted rose, while the Rose Gallery has a lighter and more elegant feel.

After three visits, the theming is still something I appreciate every time I walk through the doors.

This is one of those Disney restaurants where I genuinely encourage you to slow down and look around. Take in the architecture, the details and the atmosphere before immediately reaching for your phone or opening the menu.

The theming is still incredible.

For me, that is easily the strongest part of the entire experience.

I’ve Experienced Be Our Guest in Several Different Ways

One of the reasons I wanted to revisit Be Our Guest for this review is because my experience with the restaurant goes beyond the current prix-fixe menu.

I’ve experienced breakfast, quick-service lunch and dinner here, and I’ve seen the restaurant evolve over the years. That matters because Be Our Guest is a very different experience today than it was when it first opened.

There was a time when you could experience quick-service lunch here, and honestly, I would love to see that option return.

The current experience is much more firmly positioned as a sit-down, prix-fixe meal, which changes the value proposition considerably.

And that brings us to the biggest question: what are you actually getting for the price?

How Much Does Be Our Guest Cost?

Be Our Guest currently offers a three-course prix-fixe dining experience for both lunch and dinner. At the time of this review, the listed price is approximately $72 per adult and $43 for children ages 3–9, before tax and gratuity.

The meal is also two Table Service Dining Plan credits.

On the surface, $72 may not sound like more than the advertised price of a typical Disney dining experience. But once you add the 7% Florida sales tax and gratuity, the final cost can become considerably higher.

For a family, that adds up quickly.

And that is why I don’t think the right question is simply whether the food is good.

The more important question is whether the entire experience is worth what you are paying for it.

For me, the answer is sometimes.

What Do You Get at Be Our Guest?

The prix-fixe meal includes an appetizer, entrée and dessert. The menu has a French influence and feels somewhat more elevated than some of the other dining options you’ll find throughout Magic Kingdom.

Depending on the current menu, appetizer choices may include French Onion Soup au Gratin, Blue Crab Bisque, Escargot de Bourgogne, Tuna Tartare, Endive and Walnut Salad and Mixed Greens Salad. Entrées can include options such as Grilled Filet Mignon, Steak Frites, Short Rib Beef Bourguignon, Duroc Pork Chop, Swordfish, Chicken and Charred Eggplant, with dessert options rounding out the meal.

I want to be very clear about something: I do not think the food at Be Our Guest is bad.

Actually, I like the food.

I appreciate the French-inspired menu, and there are dishes I genuinely enjoy. The food is not the reason I’m giving Be Our Guest a three out of five.

The issue for me is the difference between good food and food that makes a meal at this price point feel like an exceptional value.

That’s where I struggle.

What I Love About Be Our Guest

The theming is an easy five out of five for me. There is something special about sitting inside Beast’s Castle, particularly if you love Beauty and the Beast. The Grand Ballroom is beautiful, the West Wing has a completely different atmosphere, and the Rose Gallery adds another elegant space to explore.

You are paying for more than a table and a meal here. You are paying for an environment that Disney has built specifically to make you feel like you have stepped into the story.

And I think that matters.

Be Our Guest also feels like an experience rather than simply a place to eat. You are sitting down, slowing the pace of your Magic Kingdom day and taking the time to actually enjoy your surroundings. In a way, it is almost like having a Disney attraction that happens to serve dinner.

That is where I think the restaurant works best. If you approach Be Our Guest as simply another place to grab lunch or dinner, the price can be difficult to justify. If you approach it as a special Disney experience, the equation changes.

The food itself is also good. I like having something on the menu that feels different from traditional theme-park fare, and I appreciate the French influence. I simply don’t think the food alone justifies the price.

Finally, Be Our Guest can be incredibly memorable. For a first-time Disney guest, a Beauty and the Beast fan or someone celebrating a birthday, anniversary or another milestone, sitting inside Beast’s Castle can become part of the story of the vacation.

And sometimes, that is exactly what you are paying for at Disney.

Where Be Our Guest Falls Short

For me, the biggest issue is value.

At roughly $72 per adult before tax and gratuity, I need the entire experience to feel exceptional. While I enjoy Be Our Guest, I don’t consistently leave thinking, “Wow, that was worth every penny.”

More often, I leave thinking, “That was really nice.”

There is a difference.

The food has value. The atmosphere has value. The theming has value. The experience has value. I completely understand that.

But when a meal can approach or exceed $100 per person after tax and gratuity, I personally expect the food and overall experience to come together in a way that makes the price feel easier to justify.

For me, Be Our Guest doesn’t quite reach that point.

That is why value is the category where I rate it lowest.

Remember: This Is Not Traditional Character Dining

Another important consideration before making a reservation is that Be Our Guest is not traditional character dining.

If you are booking this restaurant expecting Belle to come to your table for photos and autographs, this is probably not the experience you have in mind.

Be Our Guest is primarily about the castle, the atmosphere, the food and the story. Beast may make an appearance, but this is not the same type of character dining experience you’ll find at restaurants specifically designed around character interactions.

If meeting characters is one of your top priorities, there are other Disney dining experiences that may be a better fit.

Who Should Consider Be Our Guest?

Despite my three-out-of-five rating, I am not saying that Be Our Guest is a restaurant everyone should skip.

There are absolutely people for whom I think this experience makes sense.

If this is your first Walt Disney World vacation and you have always wanted to step inside Beast’s Castle, I can understand making the reservation. The same is true if you are a huge Beauty and the Beast fan. The setting is really the star of the show.

I also think Be Our Guest makes more sense for a special occasion. A birthday, anniversary or family milestone can make the experience feel more meaningful, particularly if the people you’re travelling with have a strong connection to the movie.

It can also be a good choice if you want to slow down during a Magic Kingdom day. Not every Disney day has to be about rushing from one attraction to the next. Sometimes sitting down, enjoying a meal and taking in your surroundings is exactly what you need.

Who Might Want to Skip It?

If you are working with a tight dining budget, I would seriously consider whether this is where you want to spend that money.

If you only have a limited amount of time at Magic Kingdom and your priority is experiencing as many attractions as possible, I would also think carefully about dedicating a significant portion of your day to a long sit-down meal.

And if you are not particularly interested in Beauty and the Beast, the theming may not hold the same value for you that it does for someone who grew up loving the film.

Most importantly, don’t make a reservation simply because Be Our Guest is famous.

Walt Disney World has an enormous number of restaurants and dining experiences. You don’t have to do something simply because it is popular or because everyone says you should.

The HAA Verdict: Is Be Our Guest Worth It?

So, would I tell you not to go to Be Our Guest? No.

I like Be Our Guest. I enjoy the experience, and I would absolutely go again.

What I don’t think is necessary is making it an every-trip reservation.

For me, Be Our Guest is a special-occasion Disney experience. Go because it is your first Disney trip. Go because you are celebrating something. Go because you love Beauty and the Beast. Go because you have always wanted to eat inside Beast’s Castle. Or simply go because you want to slow down and enjoy the atmosphere.

But if you ask me whether I would spend roughly $72 before tax and gratuity every time I visit Walt Disney World, my answer is probably not.

There are other dining experiences where I personally feel like I get more for my money.

And that is really the heart of this review.

I like Be Our Guest. I just don’t love it enough to justify the price every single time.

And Disney…

PLEASE BRING BACK QUICK-SERVICE LUNCH. 😂🥀

I genuinely think having that option again would make this restaurant more appealing to me, particularly for guests who want the experience of eating inside Beast’s Castle without committing to the current prix-fixe price.

Until then, Be Our Guest gets a:

⭐ 3/5 from HAA.

Experience it once. Make it special. Enjoy the castle. Take in the details. Then go enjoy the rest of Magic Kingdom.

Sometimes at Disney, you’re paying for the food and sometimes…you’re paying for the story.

At Be Our Guest? You’re definitely paying for the story. 🥀✨

So, let me know: what do you think about Be Our Guest at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom? Have you eaten here? If so, what was your favourite part of the experience?

Have a blessed and wonderful day,

London
